• Welcome to Mrs.  Swallow’s Kindergarten class!
I grew up in Valparaiso and graduated from Valparaiso High School.  I then attended Ball State University where I earned my degree in elementary education with a kindergarten endorsement.  I have had the opportunity to teach kindergarten, first, second, and fifth grades.  However, I love kindergarten and hope to be teaching this level for several years!  I also help coach spell bowl and help with various events here at school.

I have been married for 3 years and when I’m not at school, I can be found walking, scrapbooking, watching lots of sporting events, reading or playing with our dogs Lilly and Addie. My husband and I love college basketball, the Bears, and we're diehard Cubs fans! He also is a wrestling coach so our winters are spent in the gym watching the wrestling mats! I also volunteer helping our church Sunday school and working with a group that gives back to community organizations.  One of my favorite things to do is spend time with my friends and family.

Providing a safe, positive, friendly learning environment is one of my top goals for my students.  I hope that each student has a fun, memorable, and successful year while in my classroom.  I also hope that throughout the year they will grow to become responsible, successful individuals.   Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.  I’m looking forward to a great year!
