Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Angela Ayers
Dear parents, guardians, teachers, and staff of Evans Elementary School,
It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself to you as the Assistant Principal at Evans. I am humbled and most appreciative of the opportunity presented to me to become a member of this educational family. Evans Elementary School has enjoyed tremendous success academically and I realize that has not happened by accident. It has been through the hard work, dedication, and partnerships that exist between school staff, parents, community members, and the most important stakeholders in the equation; our students. It is this formula for success that draws me to this school. I am excited to see first hand all of the great opportunities going on in your school and classrooms!
Though I am new to Evans, and maybe new to some of you, I am not new to River Forest Schools. This will be the start of my third year here. I spent my first year as the Assistant Principal of the Intermediate School, and last year as the Assistant Principal of the Middle School. I actually have an elementary background, so I am beyond thrilled to be back in a very familiar place.
I began my career in education by teaching 3rd grade in the Concord School district in Elkhart, Indiana. The following year, I looped with those students and taught 4th grade. After staying home with my three children for twelve years, I went back into the classroom and spent 5 years in 2nd grade, one year in 6th grade, and one year as a Title One teacher for the Lake Station Community Schools, before coming here to River Forest as an administrator.
As an educator, I am passionate about engaging students in learning, making connections with people, creating a fun environment where students and teachers are happy and proud of where they teach and attend school, and learning to be courageous.
I am anticipating a great school year and look forward to meeting all of you! I have heard so many great things! Exciting times are ahead for Evans Elementary School and I am so honored to have the opportunity of working alongside all of you for the success of our students!
