Just a quick update about the Fire Drill on Friday.  A staff member was with a primary class on Friday during a planned fire drill at 2:30pm.  While exiting the building the staff member fell and had an injury. Our staff was quick to respond and call 911 and one of our School Resource Officers was onsite and ambulances arrived quickly. The drill lasted about 1minute and 30 seconds then we quickly returned to classes and our staff member was transported to St. Mary's in Hobart.  Mr. Worthington went along with her in the ambulance and she was treated and released later that evening and is home and resting.  A BIG "Thanks" to our staff for acting quickly and our students for following directions during a drill and medical emergency, and our parents who were patient in the pick-up line.  Thank you for your concerns and well wishes to our staff member.

The water main has been repaired and Meister will be back in session tomorrow for Late Start Wednesday. Remember that on Wednesdays, the doors ope at 9:00am for drop offs at Door F in the back parking lot. This is 1 hour later than normal. Busses usually run about 40-45 min later on Wednesday mornings because of late start, but also remember that we only have 2 bus drivers for this week, so we are doubling in the mornings and afternoons as follows: In the morning, Bus 11 will be picking up Bus 12 first then go back for the Bus 11 route, so Bus 11 kids may be picked up later than usual. In the afternoon, Bus 11 will be picked up and delivered home on time and Bus 12 will run later coming home. In the morning Bus 6 will be picking up Bus 6 first then go back for the Bus 14 route, so Bus 14 will be picked up later than usual. In the afternoon, Bus 6 will be picked up and delivered home on time and Bus 14 will run later coming home. See you tomorrow Vikings!

River Forest Families, The State of Indiana has made constant changes and has not provided clear guidance for schools. We have heard many concerns from our families, teachers, and principals. Because of these reasons, and in consulting with our School Board, the River Forest School Calendar will be adjusted. Our first e-Learning Day will take place on Tuesday, August 25th. This will provide more time for schools to work with parents and students for registration, scheduling, and assist with their Chromebooks and technology. This will help to ensure that our new school year begins the best way that it can. Principals will be providing parents more detailed plans for each school. If you have not registered your children, please contact your school. Gracias, Dr. Disney

Attention RFCSC Parents, The Athletics and Extra-Curricular guidelines have been updated on our Return to Learn plan. The plan now states: "Students participating in extracurricular must be aware of guidelines afforded by IHSAA regarding eligibility requirements as they relate to the minimum number of periods students must attend class in-person to remain eligible for sanctioned participation when the schools are open. Meaning all students, whether students choose option A (attend class at school) or option B (attend eLearning/remote class) may participate in extra-curricular if they have completed a release form, meet IHSAA requirements of attendance in eLearning/remote class or in person class, and maintain eligibility. " To view the complete plan please visit: www.rfcsc.k12.in.us

We will be doing a Meister Staff Community Drive Thru Parade this Monday, April 6th starting at 2:00pm. It will probably take us over 90 minutes to drive our bus routes, but get ready to see us by wearing Viking green or your River Forest shirts. Make a sign and hold it up when we drive by! We miss you so much, but also want you to stay safe so be sure you are not in groups, practice social distancing, and if you can't come out, wave at us from your door or a window. This will be our general route: Viking Village first, then Ravinia Pines, on to the New Chicago and High School areas, then over to Nob Hill and County Line. We hope to see all your smiling faces!!!
