River Forest Community Members,
We want to make you aware that the creation of a Fire Protection Territory in partnership with New Chicago and Lake Station is currently being considered.
River Forest Community School Corporation anticipates that the creation of this Fire Territory could have a significant negative impact on funding that supports both our school system and Lake Station Schools.
The first meeting where this proposal will be considered will be held by the Lake Station City Council on Thursday, January 22, at 7:00 PM in the Edison High School Board Room. This meeting will provide further details about the proposal and outline the potential impacts. Community members are encouraged to attend to learn more and ask questions if they choose.
The dates for the second and third meetings have not yet been announced.
