
Tomorrow is the Battle of the Blood. RFHS takes on the Lake Station Eagles to see who can donate the most blood to the Red Cross. Stop by the Multi Purpose Room between 8:30 am and 1:30 pm to give the gift of life.

Tonight don’t miss the Lady Ingots playing Morgan Township at 5:30 in the HS gym. HS wrestling will have a match tonight in the MS gym at 6 pm. Don’t miss either!

RFCSC is accepting applications for tuition students for the beginning of second semester.


Math ISTEP make-up exams are tomorrow and Thursday. For the Juniors and Seniors participating, be sure to be on time for school. Exams begin during first hour. Get a good night’s sleep and do your best this week.

We want to join our community in congratulating the RFHS Spell Bowl team. They came in 3rd place Saturday after a fantastic season under the guidance of Mr. Weitzel and Mrs. Forsell.

It’s almost time! The book fair is coming! During the week of December 2nd, visit the RF Media Center to buy books and gifts for your family and friends. A portion of the sales helps buy more books for the library. Give back by buying more!

You won’t want to miss Saturday’s scrimmage event at 6 pm. Tickets are only $1 for students and $2 for adults.


Winter Sports are gaining momentum. Still ahead this week: 11/14: HS Girls Basketball Hammond Clark at River Forest 530pm Home, 11/16: HS Girls Basketball at North Newton 11am, Cardinal and Gold Boys Basketball Scrimmage 6pm.

RF was honored to host WWII veteran, Harold C. Johnson during today’s Veterans’ Day assembly. He was awarded the Purple Heart twice for wounds he received during battles. RFHS wants to thank our veterans for their service.

Intramural Basketball season approaches. Rosters for teams are due to Commissioner Burton by Friday November 15th. Intramural season begins Thursday Nov. 21st.

For seniors and their families, tonight is the INvestED group will be providing assistance with financial aid for college. The meeting will be at 5pm in the Media Center. You won't want to miss this informative session.

This Thursday is the Fall Athletic Awards Banquet. Refreshments start at 6 pm in the Ingot Room/cafeteria followed by awards at 6:30 in the HS gym.


Ms. Medina helped create this ofrenda to celebrate Día de los Muertos. This display will be up until November 4 in the middle school hallway.


RFHS started a sweet week with its 1st annual Trunk or Treat. Students were able to enjoy treats from the school concession stand on Halloween. None of this would have been possible without the energy and creativity of the Student Council and their tireless sponsor Chris Barnes.


Tomorrow RF Varsity football plays at home. Bundle up and come out to show your Ingot spirit. Kick-off is at 7 pm.

Tomorrow is Halloween! Students may dress up to celebrate. Costumes must be school appropriate. No masks or face paint that can conceal identity. No weapons as part of a costume. Show your creativity and spirit of fun!
